Akron, OH (April 18, 2017) – Bob Raskow, SIOR, Jeff Davis, and Scott Raskow of NAI Cummins recently closed on the sale of 215 acres of land in Kent and Brimfield to the Portage Park District. NAI Cummins represented Carter Lumber in the sale of the land, which includes 50 acres of rare sphagnum bog and extensive wetlands. Neal Hess of Conservation Realty Group represented the Portage Park District.
“This transaction actually started in 2014, and required hard work and patience on all sides,” said Bob Raskow, SIOR, Vice President of NAI Cummins. “Carter Lumber gave the Portage Park District time to find grant funding through the State of Ohio, so the Park District was able to fund the purchase entirely through grant funding and donations.”
The property, which is adjacent to the existing Tom S. Cooperrider Kent Bog State Nature Preserve, won’t be ready for daily use by the public for a couple of years, according to Portage Park District Executive Director Christine Craycroft.
